There are general mentorship knowledge and skills that can be learned through traditional courses and training programmes. However, to become a mentor one needs to learn the skillset through appropriate mentorship with a mentor - learning how to be a mentee and then becoming a mentor. However, programme planning for establishing a mentorship programme should tailored to the settings and the context with equal efforts between the mentors and mentees.
