Reflecting on establishing a mentorship programme

The most difficult rule is setting up your programme goal and outcome - knowing why you need the mentorship programme, how the need is identified, the extent of the need, where you are now, and what is your desired outcome you want to achieve. Addressing this rule or step in establishing a mentorship programme is extremely important and sets the foundation for all other steps. Once this rule is addressed and planned well then the other steps can become easier to follow. However, the other steps are also important to consider. If any element of the programme is not mindfully followed then the whole programme will be at risk.

I think the hard part is 5. developing a mentor support strategy that goes beyond simple recruitment 6. develop and evaluate mentee-mentor matching strategies as an ongoing process and 10. funding and long term sustainability. These are the challenges we have had in my organisation.
I feel it is easy to write rule 1 - 3 on paper but not deliver on ground.
