    You might want to view the slides and recording of a Zoom meeting to discuss performing a peer review assignment, which was held during a previous offering of this course. See the presentation slides here, and the session recording here.

    This section of the course builds on the previous one. Below you will see a journal article and a proforma with you  can use to complete a review of this paper. The assignment is to submit your review. Download the proforma, fill in the spaces, save the file and upload it to the assignment site. Once you have submitted your assignment, you will be able to access our model answer. If you have any questions, there is a forum for you to ask questions.

      This paper, Quality of Counselling, Exposure to Vaccination Messages and Caregivers’ Knowledge on the Uptake of Penta Vaccine in Six Northern Nigerian States, was published as a preprint recently. It comes from the prerprint server medRxiv. We will be discussing preprints and open reviews in the next course, but the purpose of this exercise is to practice our peer reviewing skills, using this paper as an example. You can access it through the link above, or as the attached pdf file.

      This assignment is to test your ability to perform and submit a peer review. You are asked to look at the paper on uptake of Penta Vaccine in Nigerian States and post your review using the peer review proforma from COPPHA which you will find just above the assignment.

      The assignment is looking to demonstrate the process of completing a review, do not worry if you are not able to comment on a particular part of the research described. We will not give a mark, but you can then access our 'model' answer for you to compare. You can submit the assignment on or after November 5th, to give you time to create a considered review within the time period of this section of the course.

      Submitting the assignment is a requirement for a certificate.

      This model answer provides answers to the questions asked in the peer review proforma. It serves as a guide for how to approach each section of the review. The model answer will be available after the submission of the completed peer review proforma.
