My reflection on conducting a literature review dealing with public health problems in Africa (specifically East Africa/Ethiopia) reveals a dynamic, complex, and evolving landscape. The exercise of designing a lead poisoning project specifically for primary schools near paint factories has provided a valuable lens through which to critically assess the existing literature and identify persistent gaps.
